From smart kitchen tools to simple upgrades, these tried-and-tested buys are guaranteed to give you a boost, whether you want to make healthier choices feel easier or (like me) just remember to refill your water bottle more than once a day. You’ve got this!
Ninja Crispi 4-in-1 air fryer
Available from Amazon (£129), John Lewis & Partners (£149), Ninja (£149.99), Currys (£149.99), Argos (£150)
If healthier meals are on your agenda for 2026, this clever Ninja air fryer will help you cook with less oil, while still delivering crisp results every time.
It’ll also encourage you to make meals from scratch (there’s a comprehensive recipe booklet included) and, thanks to the two lidded glass containers, you can easily store leftovers or lunches for the next day – which might save you money, too.
Two containers are provided (1.4L and 3.8L), so you can adjust the portion size for however many people you’re feeding. As well as traditional air fryer recipes like chips and chicken wings, you can also use the Crispi to cook curries, pasta bakes, fajitas or even a small roast chicken.

Hydrate original hydration tracker bottle
Available from Amazon (£11.99)
For those who struggle to stay hydrated, this 900ml bottle will help keep you motivated and on track throughout the day. It has time markings on the side so you can monitor your intake from 8am to 6pm, as well as encouraging slogans like ‘keep drinking!’ and ‘nearly there!’.

Available from:
ProCook hand blender
Available from ProCook (£39)
A few years back, one of my New Year’s resolutions was to make more soups from scratch rather than buying pre-made cartons from the supermarket, and my trusty hand blender quickly became the most used gadget in my kitchen.
You don’t need a fancy model – a basic hand blender like this one from ProCook is ideal, allowing you to whip up fruity smoothies, sauces and soups in a flash without the need for a bulky appliance in your kitchen.
It has six speed settings, plus a boost button. Inside the box is just a simple power unit and a twist-on stainless-steel blade attachment, though you can buy extra accessories like a beaker and extra blades separately.
Available from:
Good Tuesday magnetic weekly planner
Available from Amazon (£13.50)
If you’re looking to get more organised in 2026, or perhaps you’re just fed up of your family asking you “what’s for dinner?” every night, this magnetic weekly planner is a worthwhile purchase that you can stick to your fridge door.
It’s made in the UK by B-Corp Good Tuesday and its colourful design is bright, fun and playful. Simply use a dry-erase or wipeable marker to fill in each day, then wipe away at the end of the week to start again.
Available from:
Our Place Always pan 2.0
Available from Our Place (£125)
This versatile non-stick frying pan is perfect for searing fish, meats and veg, and can also be used as a steamer with the handled steamer basket (included).
It’s made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium, which means it’s lightweight for its build and size, and it’s oven-safe up to 230C. Just remember to wear oven gloves when taking the pan out again.
Available from:
Kenwood MultiPro Go food processor
Available from Hughes (£48), Amazon (£48), Kenwood (£49.99)
If the monotony of slicing, dicing and chopping is what puts you off cooking from scratch, consider buying a simple food processor like this one from Kenwood.
This compact gadget handles the basics without taking up tons of space on your countertop. It even comes with an express-serve bowl attachment that processes ingredients from the bowl straight into the pan.
It has just one speed and a pulse function for shorter bursts of power, but what it lacks in functionality it makes up for in efficiency and style.
Available from:
Kuvings Auto 6 hand juicer
Available from Harts of Stur (£359.95), Amazon (£360)
Love the idea of making your own juices from scratch? This masticating juicer is seriously impressive and comes with a whopping 1.7L hopper capacity, plus a 4cm-wide feeding chute to add chopped ingredients.
In test, it cut through kale, apple chunks, cucumber sticks and ginger with ease, even with the skins left on, and we loved how quietly it operated, too, producing delicious, lump-free juice every time.
Available from:
Salomon ADV SKIN 5 running hydration vest
Available from Salomon (£87.50)
Whether you’re a running novice or training for a long-distance race in 2026, a hydration vest – like this one from Salomon – is a great way to stay hydrated while you’re on the move.
It has large slanted side pockets that make it easy to grab gels and snacks while you’re running, and it comes with multiple hydration options, too. While it’s one of the pricier vests available, we thought its comfortable and considered design was worth it.
Available from:

When it comes to healthy meal prep, sometimes all you need is a little inspiration – and that’s essentially the gist of this cookbook from Jamie Oliver, which is packed full of easy-to-follow recipes packed with goodness.
Each of the 120 recipes inside uses familiar ingredients that will keep you on track, from a super-green stir fry to a sticky steak and aubergine salad. There’s also a two-week meal plan included to help you get started, plus 50 healthy hacks that will revolutionise how you shop, cook and eat.
Available from:
OXO Good Grips Y peeler
Available from Amazon (£5.19), John Lewis & Partners (£7)
The humble peeler is an indispensable piece of kitchen kit when it comes to veg prep, and this sturdy Y-shaped one from OXO really raises the bar.
Unlike most veg peelers, it has a rubber handle that’s ultra-comfortable to hold – ideal if you have wet hands or struggle with grip strength. The blade is super sharp, too, and there’s a pick on one side that will help with removing potato eyes.
Available from:
Microplane Container bamboo micro grater
Available from John Lewis and Partners (£39.95), Selfridges (£40)
Perfect for zesting citrus fruit or grating veggies like carrots or courgette, this Microplane grater comes with a stylish container and bamboo lid, which means you can easily keep ingredients fresh in the fridge or neatly presented on the dinner table.
The coarse blade is sharp and the container has a rubber base, so you don’t have to worry about it sliding around on the worktop, either.
Available from:
Cole and Mason oil mister
Available from Amazon (£17.60), Robert Dyas (£20), John Lewis & Partners (£20)
Looking to cook with less oil? Consider using an oil mister – like this one from Cole and Mason – as rather than freely drizzling oil onto your ingredients, you can give them a lighter spritz and achieve a more even coating, too.
This mister is a compact and neat-looking little tool that looks great on the worktop, and even though it needs to be primed (pumped up) for each use, this is a small price to pay for such a handy piece of kit.
Available from:
Smeg soda maker
Available from Healf (£128.95), Smeg (£129.95), Currys (£129.99)
If you buy a lot of fizzy drinks from the supermarket, a sparkling water maker is a brilliant swap that can help you create less sugary carbonated drinks from home. Not only that, you’ll also cut back on the amount of plastic bottles you throw away, too.
There are lots of models to choose from, but this one from Smeg is probably the best-looking we’ve tested and it comes in a range of stylish colours.
All the materials feel upmarket and well made, and it’s easy to use, too. Just fill the bottle included to the max line and twist the chunky dial on the front to add bursts of carbonation. You’ll need to purchase a gas canister separately, but otherwise this gadget is a great investment.
Available from:
Joseph Joseph Spiro spiralizer
Available from Joseph Joseph (£15)
Spiralizers might have gone a little out of fashion in recent years, but if you want to boost your veg intake with easy swaps (e.g. courgetti instead of spaghetti), they’re a handy bit of kit to have.
We loved this version from Joseph Joseph, which has smooth, rounded edges and a compact design that’s perfect for smaller kitchens. It comes with a handful of accessories, too: namely a fine and coarse spiralizer blade and a rotary grating blade, plus a robust lid that fits snugly on top of the plastic container.
Once your veg is secured into place, twist the soft-grip handle to work the mechanism. The spiralized veg will then fall into the container below, so mess is kept to a minimum.
Available from:
Cuisinart Pixie chopper
Available from Amazon (£39.99), Cuisinart (£39.99)
Great for whipping up herby dips, pastes, pestos and sauces in a flash, this small but mighty mini chopper from Cuisinart is ideal for a small kitchen. Its diminutive footprint means it can be easily left on the counter and used everyday, too.
Included with the 700ml bowl is a whipping disc and reversible blade that grinds, chops and purées with impressive ease.
In test, we found it blitzed our Thai curry paste to a smooth consistency in just 30 seconds, but its light build means it can shift very slightly on the counter, so watch out for this. For a such a small unit though, we were blown away.
Available from:
ProCook stainless steel chipper
Available from ProCook (£29)
With this nifty little tool, you can swap out bags of frozen chips for homemade ones, then stick them in the air fryer for super-fast, crisp results (with less oil). It can even used with other veg, as well as classic Maris Pipers and sweet potatoes.
There are two blades for skinny or fat fries and it stays secure on the worktop thanks to the suction cups on the base, so even the largest spuds can be sliced without too much effort.
Available from:
Le Creuset signature cast-iron Grillit
Available from Amazon (from £122.84), Harts of Stur (£132), John Lewis & Partners (from £159), Le Creuset (£165)
Griddle pans – like the cast-iron Grillit from Le Creuset – are great at achieving delicious char lines and sealing in flavour, while allowing excess fat to drain off to the sides. This means they work particularly well when cooking meat and fish, but also with watery veg, too. The pan is also oven-safe up to 250C and can be used in pizza ovens, on your barbecue or even over a campfire.
Available from:
Tefal Lightmix
Available from Tefal (£39.99), Amazon (£39.99), John Lewis and Partners (£39.99)
This rechargeable blender is the perfect little vessel for taking smoothies and shakes on the go, though bear in mind that at 500g it’s still a tad weighty to carry around.
Offering a 300ml capacity, it has a grippy silicone shell and handle and durable, BPA-free cup made from Tritan plastic, and operating it is easy too. Simply click the button on the front twice and the blade gets to work. You could also use the Lightmix to make smooth sauces or small portions of sauces or dips.
Available from:
Lock & Lock eco 3-piece set
Available from Harts of Stur (£5.39), Amazon (£5.39)
If bringing a packed lunch (rather than buying lunch out) or batch-cooking healthier recipes are on your list of goals for this year, investing in a set of storage containers is a great place to start.
These Lock & Lock boxes are not just high quality, but they also have good eco credentials. Each is made from 100 per cent food-grade waste plastic that’s been salvaged from production offcuts, redundant stock and surplus. They also claim to be 100 per cent air- and water-tight, plus they’re dishwasher- and freezer-safe.
Available from:
Innermost The Wellness blend mushroom coffee
Available from Selfridges (£39.99)
For those looking to cut back on caffeine, mushroom coffee could be a good alternative to explore. This powder from wellbeing brand Innermost is one of the best we’ve tried, blending mushrooms (chaga, cordyceps, maitake and reishi) and arabica coffee, with just 1.5g of coffee per serving.
When combined it with hot water and milk, we found it had a mild, pleasant flavour that closely resembled instant coffee. There’s no added sugar, preservatives or additives and the packaging is easy to store and take on the go, too.
Available from:
Morphy Richards Clarity 1.6L soup maker
Available from Argos (£90)
Soup makers have been cause for debate in the Good Food Test Kitchen: some love the convenience they offer, while others think you can just as easily use a stick blender to create a smooth texture.
Personally, I think if you want an easy life and ultra-consistent results, plus added perks like a ‘keep warm’ setting, models like this one from Morphy Richards are a solid investment.
This gadget has a generous 1.6-litre capacity and sturdy build, though it’s more lightweight than we expected thanks to its BPA-free Tritan plastic jug, which is tougher than glass and doesn’t scratch or stain.
The ‘keep warm’ programme is great for second helpings or latecomers, and we liked that the handle folds down and tucks away, making it easy to store.
Available from:
OXO Good Grips steel salad spinner
Available from Amazon (£50.52), Harts of Stur (£59.50)
Great for prepping winter salads or drying off washed fruit or herbs, this sleek salad spinner has all the clever, comfort-led features we’ve come to expect from OXO.
The rubberised buttons and non-slip base kept it stable on the counter, reducing the risk of slips. The plunger is also placed in the centre, which makes it easy to operate with one hand.
The inner basket was also more robust than other salad spinners we’ve tested, plus the bowl is stylish enough to serve at the table, too.
Available from:
Instant Pot Pro 5.7L multi-cooker
Available from Amazon (£199), Currys (£199), Instant Pot (£199.99)
Want to do more batch cooking in 2026? This Instant Pot multi-cooker will make it near-effortless. It has all the functions you’d expect, tackling everything from baking to sautéing and steaming. There’s also a ‘Nutriboost’ setting, which helps to agitate ingredients as they cook, so tomato-based dishes are less likely to stick to the pot.
If you’re a novice, you might be better off with a simpler model, but for those already familiar with the wonders of multi-cooking, this is a worthy upgrade.
Available from:
Sage the Citrus Press
Available from Harts Of Stur (£118.95), Sage (£119.95), Amazon (£119.95)
If you fancy kicking off your day with a glass of freshly squeezed citrus juice, considering buying an electric juicer. This ultra-stylish version from Sage would be one of my top picks, and while expensive, it requires next-to-no elbow grease and looks great on the counter, too.
The one-size-fits-all cone allows you to switch between small and large fruits without needing to swap anything, and in test we were impressed by how much juice we could extract from smaller citruses like limes.
Available from:
Black + Blum stainless-steel lunch box
Available from Amazon (£29.99)
When lunchtime hits, it’s sometimes easier to make healthier choices if you’ve brought a pre-made lunch with you, rather than buying out – in which case, a shiny new lunch box could be a great investment.
Choose a box that’s easy to carry, leak-proof and sturdily built, like this clever one from Black + Blum. It’s made from stainless steel and comes with a fork, which is held in place with a brightly coloured silicone strap.
Inside, there’s also a removable divider that slides up and down, offering up two compartments that can be adjusted in size as you like. Being made from metal, you can’t place it in a microwave but it is freezer-safe and, unusually, the base section can go in the oven.
Available from:
Ninja Detect 3-in-1 Power blender and food processor
Available from Amazon (£179), Currys (£179.99), Ninja (£179.99), Argos (£179.99)
We loved this powerful three-in-one blender from Ninja, which makes blitzing up homemade soups, sauces and smoothies a breeze – ideal if you want to effortlessly up your fruit and veg intake.
It’s loud, but super-fast and delivers ultra-smooth results every time, and can even determine when you’re using fresh or frozen ingredients. If you haven’t added enough liquid, a warning will also flash up on the screen.
This gadget also functions as a food processor, and comes with several different blades, a grating and slicing disc and three single-serve lidded cups, so you can take smoothies on the go.
Available from:
CASO Design AirFry DuoChef
Available from CASO Design (£139.99)
Using an air fryer – as opposed to deep-fat frying – can be a much healthier method of cooking as it requires less oil to create a crisp ‘fried’ finish on food. These gadgets also come in a range of shapes and sizes, and this 5.5-litre model from CASO is one of the most versatile we’ve tested.
It has 10 handy presets, including a reheat mode, plus it also doubles as an oven with a 14-litre capacity. Simply remove the baskets and central divider and hook on the pull-down door.
This clever, adaptable design makes it a great pick for those who’d rather avoid using their oven entirely, or just need the extra space. The footprint is large, so just be prepared to make a lot of room on your countertop for it.
Available from:
MP hydration vest
Available from MyProtein (£65)
Some running hydration vests can cost upwards of £100+, but this more affordable alternative from MyProtein still does the job well. The budget price comes with a few compromises: fewer pockets and some noticeable chafing around the neckline, but otherwise has a similar design to other vests – including a snug, body-hugging fit, mesh panels that offer decent ventilation and easily-adjustable elasticated front clips. There’s also space for a 2-litre bladder in the zipped compartment at the back.

Available from:
Magimix multifunction steamer
Available from Amazon (£174), John Lewis & Partners (£190)
An electric steamer might not feel like an essential purchase, but this form of cooking does come with some notable health benefits. Steaming preserves more vitamins and nutrients than boiling and it’s better at retaining the flavour and texture of foods like veg and fish, too.
This Magimix model is one of the priciest we’ve tested, but it’s also one of the most impressive – sporting a 12-litre capacity, two dishwasher-safe steaming baskets, a heavy-duty glass lid and multifunctional stainless-steel bowl for cooking rice or reheating food.
The machine has four temperatures (40C, 60C, 80C and 100C), and the lowest temperature can even be used to make yogurt.
