    58 Million Pounds of Sausage Products Recalled Nationwide

    58 Million Pounds of Sausage Products Recalled Nationwide

    • Jimmy Dean and State Fair corn dogs and sausage products recalled for wood fragment contamination.
    • The products were sold from March through September 2025; use-by dates run into mid-2026.
    • Sold at Walmart, Target and more, there are five injuries connected to this recall.

    There’s an active recall on approximately 58 million pounds of corn dog and sausage on a stick products, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). This is due to a foreign matter contamination.

    The products affected by this recall include Jimmy Dean and State Fair freezer items sold at retail locations nationwide, including Walmart, Kroger, Target and more. They were also distributed and sold in schools and food service locations nationwide. These products were packaged and sold between March 17 and September 26, 2025, and they all bear an establishment number of “EST-582” or “P-894.”

    If you have one of the recalled products on hand, dispose of it or return to your place of purchase for a refund. This recall was announced after multiple consumer complaints of finding wood fragments in the batter of the corn dogs, five of which reported injuries as a result. If you are showing signs of any injury or illness after eating one of the above recalled products, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
