    Key Takeaways

    • Introversion and extroversion are personality traits first identified by Carl Jung.
    • This quiz is for entertainment purposes only and doesn’t capture the full essence of your personality.
    • You can adjust your habits and possibly change elements of your personality with motivation and strategy.

Do you know what energizes you? We often tend to think of ourselves as either introverted or extroverted, but it may not be as simple as that.

    The Introvert or Extrovert Quiz

This free and fast quiz can help give you some insight into where you fall on the spectrum of extroversion and introversion.

Who Is This Introvert or Extrovert Quiz For?

This quiz is for anyone who is curious about their personality, especially relating to social interaction. Maybe you’ve always considered yourself an introvert and would like to confirm your suspicions. Or maybe you’re wondering what it means that everyone is always calling you the life of the party.

Remember, this quiz is only meant for entertainment purposes. We are complex creatures, and our personalities are determined by an unknowable combination of our past experiences, learned behaviors, and so much more.

Think of this quiz as a fun way to reflect on how you act in certain situations, and how different it might be to try some different behaviors on for size.

    About This Quiz

Introversion and extroversion (sometimes spelled extraversion) were first specifically identified as personality traits by the famous psychologist Carl Jung. Today, several different personality frameworks—such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Big Five, and Caddell’s 16 personality factors—utilize these traits as part of their assessments.

Our quiz builds on these frameworks to help you determine where you might fall on the spectrum of introversion and extroversion based on a variety of common social situations.

What This Quiz Says About Your Personality

Introversion and extroversion are just one possible element of your personality. At the end of the day, who you are is so much more than that, and we’d never presume to be able to capture your essence with the results of this quiz.

On a different day, you could just as easily receive a different result based on how you’re feeling. We’re just complicated like that, so don’t get too caught up in your results!

What If I Don’t Like Being an Introvert or Extrovert?

Whether your result is introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in between, you are not always just one thing all the time. We all need alone time now and then, just as we can all benefit from the occasional night out with a group of close friends and loved ones.

If you feel your personality is hindering your own happiness, it might be time to try something new and get out of your comfort zone.

With the right motivation and the right strategy, it actually is possible to change your habits and even elements of your personality. If you’d like to be more social, connect with a good friend who is more outgoing and ask them to help you get out more and meet new people.

If you need a break from the social life, don’t be afraid to say no once in a while when you’re looking for some me-time.

The most important thing is to continue checking in with yourself. You are the only person who truly knows what you need to feel energized and where your sources of happiness are.

Be honest with yourself—and with your inner circle—about your needs, and take whatever action is needed to make sure you are spending time the way you want to spend it.
