In addition to a fantastic selection of pantry essentials, specialty products, and seasonal offerings, Trader Joe’s frozen lineup is simply incredible. Nothing beats browsing those freezers for fan-favorite appetizers or easy heat-and-eat meals, but the best frozen items are, in my opinion, the ice cream products.
Mini ice cream cones are a staple, and you can’t go wrong with a tub of the seasonal Wildberry Cheesecake Ice Cream. But now, the award for my favorite TJ’s frozen dessert might be up in the air, because the grocery chain is releasing a brand-new iteration of a legendary ice cream item.
Trader Joe’s To Release New Cookies ‘N Cream Ice Cream Sandwiches
Trader Joe’s doesn’t miss when it comes to ice cream desserts, from Mint & Chip Bon Bons to the iconic Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches. Our editors love these ice cream sandwiches, TJ’s shoppers love these ice cream sandwiches (In fact, fans have said they’ve “eaten close to a hundred boxes.”), and now Trader Joe’s is releasing a brand-new flavor.
Trader Joe’s fan @traderjoesobsessed recently posted about Cookies ‘N Cream Ice Cream Sandwiches coming to store shelves. Despite not currently being listed on the chain’s website, one Trader Joe’s employee in North New Jersey confirmed to Allrecipes that, yes, the Cookies ‘N Cream Ice Cream Sandwiches are indeed a real TJ’s item, and should be arriving in stores soon, though the exact date is still uncertain.
Fans on Instagram are already eager to try the new treats. One person commented that they’re “making room in my freezer right now!”
Another chimed in, saying “I got two boxes of the chocolate chip ice cream cookie sandwiches I gotta finish first and then it’s ON.”
One eagle-eyed shopper commented that the sandwiches had been stocked at their local TJ’s in Nashville, Tenn., adding that, “These are delicious.”
Based on the product image in the post, it appears that the new frozen dessert is similar to the Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches and come in a four-pack box. Though the exact price isn’t confirmed, the item may retail around $4.99, which is the current price of a four-pack of Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches, or $3.99, the cost of the current seasonal Maple Leaf Ice Cream Sandwiches.
I’ll happily splurge on a box of Trader Joe’s ice cream sandwiches, especially this new flavor. After all, there’s nothing better than ice cream—and with cookies, I’m absolutely sold.
