Allrecipes Finally Has the Recipe Feature You’ve Been Asking For

Over its more than 25-year history, the Allrecipes website has evolved quite a bit. It’s gone through multiple logos, several homepage makeovers, and—oh yes—welcomed about 38.2 million members into the community.

And that’s a pretty big deal. The reason we all keep coming back to Allrecipes, more than any other recipe hub, is because real home cooks are sharing their family recipes—and, just as importantly, their honest feedback. Sometimes, it takes a team effort to turn a recipe from good to great, even when the bones are already solid.

Now, in an effort to celebrate and strengthen that community spirit even more, we’re launching a brand-new feature that not only helps you perfect your recipes but also makes it easier to connect with the cooks who make this site what it is.

Meet the New Threaded Recipe Reviews Feature

You asked for it, and now it’s here: Theaded reviews—a new way to have real conversations right on recipe pages.

With threaded reviews, community members can now directly respond to questions or feedback left in recipe reviews, opening up the floor for more discussion, helpful little tweaks, and shared wisdom to make your home cooking better than ever.

The best part about Allrecipes recipes is that you can try one out with confidence, knowing hundreds (sometimes thousands!) of other home cooks have tested it before you. But often, it’s the one key tip from a fellow cook in the comments—someone who tried an ingredient swap or a timing adjustment—that takes a recipe from four stars to five.

For years, though, recipe comments lived on their own. You could post your experience or ask a question, but there was no easy way for other cooks to respond directly.

Now, finally, we’re turning the comment section into a true conversation. You can communicate with other community members—even the recipe creators themselves—by commenting on their notes and suggestions or leaving your own for others to respond to.

    How Threaded Reviews Work

At the bottom of every recipe page, you’ll find the familiar review section where you can leave a star rating and share your thoughts.

Below that, you’ll see the reviews left by other home cooks. And now, under each comment, you’ll find a “Reply” button next to an arrow.

    Allrecipes

Clicking it will open a text box titled “My Reply.” Here, you can type and submit your response. The box automatically tags the username of the original commenter so they’ll be notified—and can reply right back.

    Allrecipes

Threaded reviews are only available on recipe pages, not on article pages across the Allrecipes site.

    Who Can Join the Conversation?

Anyone with an Allrecipes account can post replies in threaded reviews—including the original recipe publisher.

Plus, our internal Allrecipes team will be active in the threads, monitoring discussions and answering questions, especially on Test Kitchen–published recipes.

So go ahead—give it a try! We’re so excited to open up the conversation even more around recipes, which is, after all, what brought us all here in the first place.
