If you’ve had your fill of pumpkin, maple, and all things fall, you’re in luck because winter flavors have officially hit the major fast food chains. Dunkin’ is bringing back the Peppermint White Mocha Latte and Toasted White Chocolate Latte. Starbucks confirmed that the Eggnog Latte would finally be back on menus later in the season. And Dutch Bros just dropped four drinks, which, arguably, look the most festive of all.

Now, Panera has announced its holiday lineup, and it features a mix of new and returning favorites, including a brand-new sweet treat you’ll be adding to all of your upcoming orders.

Panera Releases New Signature Hot Chocolate Items

    Panera

This holiday season, Panera is expanding its drink selection with four new beverage options. The Mocha Latte is back on menus after being previously listed as “retired” on the chain’s website. The cup includes freshly brewed espresso, foamed milk, chocolate sauce, and a swirl of whipped cream. Alternatively, you can order an Iced Mocha, which features the chocolate and coffee blend poured over ice.

In addition, Panera is introducing the all-new Signature Hot Chocolate and Frozen Signature Hot Chocolate. The warm version features steamed milk flavored with rich chocolate sauce. On the other hand, Panera’s frozen hot chocolate is made with creamy half-and-half blended with chocolate sauce. Both drinks are finished with a generous serving of whipped cream.

And that’s not all, Panera is also adding Crème Brûlée Bites to the lineup. Those who love the classic burnt sugar-topped dessert will appreciate this fast-casual twist. It includes a mini buttery vanilla cake, brown sugar streusel crumb, and a sprinkle of salted caramel sugar.

My Honest Review of Panera’s Frozen Signature Hot Chocolate

Last week, I got a notification from the app that Panera’s frozen hot chocolate was available exclusively for MyPanera members, and I didn’t waste any time ordering. I was surprised that despite only having a few simple ingredients, it actually tasted like traditional hot chocolate with a frozen twist. It’s worth noting that this is a very sweet drink and contains 56 grams of total sugar per 16-ounce cup.

My family enjoyed the taste, but I couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. You can customize it with a shot of espresso, flavored syrups, or salted caramel sugar, but these options have an additional fee on top of the $4.49 base price. I would’ve liked to see it come with a chocolate drizzle or crushed peppermint on top, just to give the drink some seasonal pizzazz.

Overall, if you like to keep it simple, I’d definitely give Panera’s new frozen hot chocolate a try. If you prefer a more extravagant cup, I’d suggest waiting to see if the Dunkin’ or Dairy Queen frozen hot chocolate returns this holiday season.
