As you age, it’s important to eat a variety-filled diet that contains essential nutrients that can help keep your body healthy. Luckily, these delicious soup recipes have at least 20% of the daily value of crucial nutrients like calcium, protein and/or vitamin D that help support healthy aging. Plus, these dishes are packed with at least 6 grams of fiber per serving to promote healthy digestion as well. Whip up a pot of our Marry Me White Bean Soup or High-Fiber Vegetable Stew for a cozy meal that will leave you feeling nourished and satisfied.

Here, the flavors of Marry Me Chicken (sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, cream and Parmesan) are transformed into a hearty, soul-warming vegetarian soup. Finished with basil and extra cheese, it’s cozy, crowd-pleasing and sure to win hearts at the table.

    High-Fiber Vegetable Stew

This vegetable stew is a cozy dish for two that highlights the best of late-summer, early-fall produce. Simmered with warm spices and a savory broth, it’s delicious served with warm naan on the side for dipping.

    Creamy Chickpea Soup

This creamy chickpea soup comes together in just 20 minutes. Cream cheese adds a velvety texture that feels cozy and comforting. Garnished with cilantro and crunchy tortilla strips, it’s a one-pot meal that’s weeknight-friendly and crowd-pleasing.

    Instant Pot Lentil Soup

This vegetarian soup is full of aromatic vegetables, brown lentils and fresh spinach. A splash of balsamic vinegar brightens the flavor, and a garnish of radish and parsley gives this comforting soup a fresh finish.

    Sopa Tarasca

This famous soup from the state of Michoacán in Western Mexico is often made with a base of pureed beans along with tomatoes and dried chiles, which bring a lot of the character to the dish. Here we use ancho chiles, which are sweet, earthy and relatively mild.

Instant Pot Chicken Soup with Root Vegetables & Barley

This healthy chicken soup can be made in an Instant Pot or pressure cooker. Bone-in chickens adds a rich flavor to the dish, while root veggies and barley give it texture and depth.

    Pea Soup

This simple pea soup recipe makes an elegant start to a meal. It’s also a great way to use frozen vegetables when the produce section is looking bleak.

    Vegetable and Tofu Soup

In this veggie-packed soup, tofu gets marinated in Italian seasoning for up to four hours, for a flavorful and nourishing meal.

    Spicy Black Bean Soup

This healthy vegetarian bean soup recipe draws inspiration from Brazil’s feijoada, a pork and black bean stew. Blackened jalapeños, fire-roasted tomatoes and smoked paprika give it plenty of flavor.

    Slow-Cooker Bean & Barley Soup

This zesty soup can simmer in the crock pot for an entire workday, making it perfect for a busy weekday meal. Bump up the Southwest flavors with a garnish of chopped fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime, if desired.

    Smoked Gouda-Broccoli Soup

Smoked paprika and smoked Gouda give this broccoli-and-cheese soup recipe a double hit of smoky flavor. If you can’t find smoked Gouda, smoked Cheddar gives delicious results as well.

Curried Sweet Potato & Peanut Soup

In this flavorful soup, sweet potatoes simmer in a quick coconut curry, resulting in a creamy, thick broth punctuated by notes of garlic and ginger. We love peanuts for their budget-friendly price and versatile flavor. They’re also a great source of protein—1 ounce has 7 grams.

    Lemony Lentil Soup with Collards

You don’t need broth for this lentil soup –it’s rich thanks to the browned bits in the bottom of the pan that meld into the soup, packing it with flavor. Ground coriander, from the seed of the cilantro plant, has a floral, citrusy flavor that dovetails nicely with the lemon.

    Vegetable Weight-Loss Soup

A big bowl of this vegetable soup will leave you satisfied for hours without consuming a lot of calories, which is helpful when trying to lose weight. Plus, it’s an easy way to boost your vegetable servings for the day.

    Lasagna Soup

This quick and healthy lasagna soup has all the comforting flavors of classic lasagna with plenty of tomatoes, Italian turkey sausage and lasagna noodles broken into bite-size bits. A dollop of ricotta cheese mixed with mozzarella and Parmesan adds a creamy finishing touch.

Pasta e Ceci (Pasta & Chickpea Soup)

This thick soup is full of ceci (Italian for chickpeas), tomatoes, fresh rosemary and pasta. Convenient pantry items makes it the perfect solution for harried weeknights. To make this soup vegetarian, simply swap reduced-sodium vegetable broth for the beef broth.
