    • CPSC warns Blongky portable car kettles may spew hot liquid, posing serious burn risks.
    • Nine injuries, including one second-degree burn, reported from faulty lids.
    • Consumers urged to stop use and dispose of it as an official recall is pending.

There’s an active alert on portable kettles sold nationwide, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This is due to a serious burn risk for consumers.

The Blongky portable electric car kettles affected by this recall have a printed model number of “FCC 390 Pro.” They were sold online through Amazon and Walmart’s website, as well as through third-party sellers like eBay. The kettles were sold between $17 and $40 and came in the colors taupe and white.

These car kettles may unexpectedly spew hot steam or liquid, posing a burn hazard for users. The defective kettles’ lid mechanisms are faulty, so the top may suddenly open unwarranted. Because of this, there have been nine reports of burns in connection to this recall, including one report of second-degree burns.

While a recall was not officially announced due to the company being “unresponsive to CPSC requests for a recall,” the CPSC is urging consumers to dispose of any affected products. Check your portable kettle, and if it matches the alert information, stop using the kettle immediately.

To report any incidents in connection to this faulty product, contact the CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
