    This Kiwi Mojito Mocktail offers an alcohol-free twist on the classic mojito. Instead of rum, we highlight ripe kiwis, which are full of gut-friendly fiber. Fresh mint leaves add a cooling herbal lift, while a squeeze of lime balances the sweetness with just the right amount of zing. Try it once, and it may just become your go-to mocktail.     Tips from the EatingWell Test Kitchen

    These are the key tips we learned while developing and testing this recipe in our Test Kitchen to make sure it works, tastes great and is good for you too! 

    • Look for kiwis that yield slightly to gentle pressure. Overly firm ones won’t mash easily and can taste sour.
    • Cold fruit, lime juice and club soda keep the drink crisp and refreshing without relying on extra ice, which can dilute the flavor.
    • If you don’t like the texture of kiwi seeds, strain the muddled mixture before topping with club soda.

    Nutrition Notes

    • Kiwi contains gut-friendly fiber and has twice the vitamin C as an orange, helping to support immune, heart and skin health. Not only is the naturally sweet fibrous kiwi flesh good for your gut, but kiwi seeds contain an enzyme called actinidin that can help support better digestion. 
    • Mint leaves provide anti-inflammatory nutrients, including menthol, polyphenols and flavonoids that fight cell-damaging free radicals. Mint is also known for its stomach-soothing properties, as it helps relax muscles in the gut and supplies antibacterial benefits to protect the gut microbiome.  
    • Lime juice provides vitamin C to help promote better immunity, and antioxidants including hesperidin, which can help reduce inflammation. Lime juice can help keep you hydrated, as it contains electrolytes from potassium, calcium and magnesium. 
    • Club soda provides the fizzy satisfaction of a soda without the added sugar. Be aware that club soda and tonic water are not the same mixer, as tonic water contains added sugars while club soda only has carbonation and minerals.
