These last few weeks of the year are always an exciting time, thanks to the holiday season. We’re spending time with family and friends, enjoying some delicious food, and maybe opening a few presents from Santa Claus along the way. But, for football fans, the fun doesn’t stop on Dec. 25.
For almost an entire week, between the NFL and college football, you can find a game to watch almost every day. And while the playoff picture is finally coming together in the NFL, it’s the college Bowl games that really matter.
But, if you’re like us, and don’t have a team to root for, you turn on the Bowl games with the best entertainment. Want to see a coach get doused in mayo? Watch the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. Need an excuse to finish up the holiday eggnog? Turn on the Holiday Bowl. And if you just want a good belly laugh, you’ll want to watch the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
For the past few years, the Pop-Tarts Bowl has gone viral on social media thanks to the hilarious inclusion of the Pop-Tarts mascot. In 2023, the Kellanova brand debuted the first-ever edible mascot. The smiling Pop-Tart mascot went into the toaster at the top, to come out the side as a fully edible, toasted Pop-Tart.
The moment became an instant meme and, in 2024, Pop-Tarts brought three mascots to the game, with one making the ultimate sacrifice to be eaten at the end of the game. With just about a week to go until the 2025 Pop-Tarts Bowl, when we’ll learn which of the six (!) edible mascots will have their toaster dreams come true, Pop-Tarts wants to get fans in on the fun.
Pop-Tarts is releasing a limited-edition Tailgate Pack filled with all six Pop-Tarts flavors from Team Swirls and Team Sprinkles. But you’ll have to be as lucky as the Pop-Tarts edible mascot to score one.
Pop-Tarts Launches New Tailgate Pack for Pop-Tarts Bowl
This year’s edible mascots include Protein Slammin’ Strawberry, Frosted Cherry, and Frosted Cookies & Crème on Team Sprinkles and Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Frosted Wild Berry, and Frosted Hot Fudge Sundae on Team Swirls. So, the new Tailgate Pack will feature one box of each of these flavors.
However, the catch is that the exclusive “collector’s box” won’t be hitting grocery shelves. Instead, you’ll have to test your luck via an Instagram giveaway. Pop-Tarts is giving away 100 Tailgate Pack boxes and all you have to do is enter on Pop-Tarts’ Instagram between now and Dec. 21 at 9 p.m. EST.
If you don’t win one of the Pop-Tarts Bowl exclusive packs, you can always make your own with the six toaster pastry flavors, which are all available at grocery stores nationwide. Then you can enjoy all the sweet pastries charcuterie board-style while you watch the game.
Plus, don’t forget to place your vote for which team’s mascot should be sacrificed during the Pop-Tarts Bowl on Dec. 27. Voting opens at 3:30 p.m. EST that day. To vote, text “SPRINKLES” for Team Sprinkles or “SWIRLS” for Team Swirls to 21523.
With the antics already starting, it’s shaping up to be the best Pop-Tarts Bowl yet—and we’re not talking about the actual football game.
