When you think about Wendy’s, there isn’t one particular menu item that stands out above the rest—the options are just that good. You may be loyal to the Baconator, or opt for the Spicy Chicken Nuggets like me. Or, perhaps a value meal, like the Biggie Bag or 444, comes to mind. Redditors even declare that the baked potato isn’t just the best thing at Wendy’s, but arguably the most underrated cheap fast food item across all the chains. No matter what you choose for an entrée, though, it’s almost a guarantee that you’ll consider a classic Frosty for dessert.
In fact, the Wendy’s menu is so expansive (and consistently delicious) that even Wendy herself can’t pick just one. Lucky for us, the namesake of the fast food chain shared her favorite Wendy’s order, and one item might be the best on Wendy’s menu.
Wendy’s Namesake Revealed Her Go-to Wendy’s Order
Wendy Thomas-Morse, the adorable name and face behind Wendy’s, recently revealed her go-to order from the fast food chain—and no, it’s not a Frosty. According to Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas’s daughter, Wendy, there are a few menu items she’ll alternate between, plus a side that’s almost always in the rotation.
“I go between a single, cheese, ketchup, tomato, lettuce only,” Thomas-Morse told People Magazine during a recent interview. “Or I’ll do the spicy chicken, taco salad, or chili.”

Since Wendy’s is an authentic fast food restaurant, we’re not surprised that a classic cheeseburger is one of the franchise’s favorites. Plus, her other choices are definitely among fans’ top favorites, too. Thomas-Morse isn’t the only fan of Wendy’s Taco Salad; according to Allrecipes News Editor Bailey Fink, the $7 meal is “the best thing on Wendy’s menu,” and she regularly craves it.
While the entrée may vary daily, Thomas-Morse mentioned that one side dish in particular is a must, especially when paired with one of Wendy’s most underrated menu items.
“And of course, the fries,” she added to her list of menu picks. “If you’re having chili, you’ve got to have fries to dip them in.”

Wendy’s Chili is notoriously good, but as tasty as it is, it makes sense that Thomas-Morse’s order includes a side of French fries, which are arguably some of the best around. In fact, Wendy’s fries won our taste test of fast food French fries, beating out 11 other chains—including McDonald’s.
No matter what you’re craving, whether it’s a juicy burger or a packed salad, Thomas-Morse knows that Wendy’s has so many satisfying menu options that it’s hard to pick just one. Personally, I’m just relieved that Wendy’s fries—and more importantly, the act of dipping them in a cup of chili—is franchisee-approved.
