Aldi, like Trader Joe’s and Costco, has a very dedicated fan base. And now, that fan base is expanding. For years, Aldi was a smaller, lesser-known chain. But recently, the brand has absolutely exploded. The budget retailer is now one of the country’s fastest-growing grocery stores, with plans to open 180 new locations across the United States by the end of 2026. That means even more shoppers will soon get to see what makes Aldi so special.
If stretching your budget is your priority, Aldi is a great place to shop. Aldi offers the lowest prices of any national grocery store, saving regular shoppers hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars annually. And, if you are a name-brand only shopper, you’ll be shocked at the quality of Aldi’s private-label products. If you like fancy imported goods, Aldi has that, too. If you like trying new foods every week, you need to check out Aldi’s Aisle of Shame. All this to say, I truly think Aldi has something for everyone.
While I was doing my regular Aldi grocery run over the weekend, I spotted a product that stopped me in my tracks. It was an Aldi copycat of one of my all-time favorite snacks, and because Aldi’s snack brand, Clancy’s, made it, I knew it would be delicious.
Aldi Brings Back Clancy’s Lightly Salted Pea Crisps
Allrecipes / Aldi
Aldi recently reintroduced its Lightly Salted Pea Crisps, a copycat of the popular Harvest Snaps Baked Green Pea Snacks. If you’re unfamiliar with the snack, it’s a delicate, airy veggie stick shaped like a pea pod with plenty of crunch. It has a light, grassy taste and an undeniably delicious texture. Aldi’s version of the poppable snack is just as good as the real deal.
“Folks, these are just as good as the name brand,” one Redditor shared about the Pea Crisps. “I’ll be going back and getting more!” Another chimed in, “I’m glad they are back with a new look! Hopefully my store has them this week.”
I bought the 3.3-ounce bag, which actually holds quite a lot, for $1.99. The name-brand version would’ve cost me around $2.50 at other retailers. In addition to the savings, I now don’t need to make an extra stop to find the snack. I can just grab this delicious treat when I do my weekly grocery shopping at Aldi.
Harvest Snaps are available in several flavors (Zesty Ranch is the best), so I’m hoping to report back soon on more flavors of Clancy’s Pea Crisps!
