With Christmas just around the corner, it’s a mad dash to finish up all the holiday baking. While homemade goodies are always a hit, sometimes, you need help in the form of a premade, ready-to-serve bakery item (even Ina Garten does!). If one of the items on your to-do list was a homemade pie, but you ran out of time, or your pie crust didn’t come together as you hoped, Aldi has you covered.
Aldi’s Bake Shop Dutch Apple Pie Is Back
This week, Aldi is bringing back its fan-loved Bake Shop Dutch Apple Pie to stores for one week. While apple pie is a classic fall and winter staple, the sweet crumble topping that sets Dutch apple pies apart from a traditional double-crust apple pie brings the dessert to another level of deliciousness. Plus, it only costs $4.99.
Aldi fans have long raved about the seasonal treat, describing it as “perfectly flaky” with caramelized apples that are still structurally intact, so you aren’t biting into mushy fruit.
“This apple pie is great,” one fan shared on the r/aldi subreddit. “It’s as good or better than a pie from the local bakery at half the price. We buy one every time we see it at Aldi.”
While you could eat the pie as is, you could also toss it in a preheated oven for a short stint before serving. Not only will it make the filling wonderfully warm and gooey, but it will also perk up the pie and fill your home with the irresistible smell of cinnamon and sugar. Top the pie slices with a scoop of ice cream, and you may fool everyone into thinking you made the treat yourself.
If apple pie isn’t your jam, don’t fear. It looks like another beloved Aldi pie is returning to stores this week: Bake Shop Pecan Pie. The pecan pie costs $5.89, and, like the apple variety, comes ready to serve. It’s got plenty of nutty flavor and chewy texture. If your crowd likes things on the sweeter side, this pie is for you.
Both products are returning to stores as an Aldi Find, meaning they’ll only be on shelves until Dec. 16. So, take our word for it and get to your nearest Aldi ASAP—you definitely don’t want to miss this.
