Betty Crocker has been offering up new flavors and collaborations one after the other. In just the last year, the brand once again celebrated the release of the highly anticipated stage-to-movie musical “Wicked: For Good” with its two-layer Collector’s Edition Cake Mix that was nothing short of magical. It also offered us holiday cookies we couldn’t pass up, and recently dropped two irresistible limited-edition mixes that will have us baking nonstop.
Now, Netflix fans, myself included, have another reason to rush to the nearest store to stock up while we can. Betty Crocker just brought back the baking mixes we couldn’t get enough of last time around to celebrate a new season of “Bridgerton.” Time to pre-heat the oven.
Betty Crocker’s ‘Bridgerton’ Baking Mixes Are Back
If you’re like me, counting the days until the new season of Netflix’s “Bridgerton” drops, Betty Crocker’s latest collab just might help see us through. The mixes are inspired by popular teatime treats that grace the show, and I, for one, can’t wait to try them all with a spot of tea.
The re-release features a creme puff kit, a petite strawberry scone kit, and a petite sponge cake kit. Each floral-themed box holds various items to help make baking a breeze, along with instructions written in the voice of the show’s narrator, Lady Whistledown, for added effect.
The Crème Puff Kit comes with everything you need to create beautifully puffed confections. Just add butter, water, and eggs to the included mix to form the signature dough, and use the provided piping bag for perfectly shaped puffs. Then, simply add milk to make the whipped filling that gets layered on for pink flair and sweet cream flavor.
The Petite Strawberry Scone Kit makes teatime staples in no time at all. Combine the mix with butter and milk or water, roll out the dough, and cut it into rounds with the included cookie cutter. Serve them in style with the included strawberry jam (and homemade clotted cream if you’re feeling extra fancy).
Finally, the Petite Sponge Cake Kit allows bakers to easily throw together treats fit for Queen Charlotte herself. Just add water, oil, and egg to the cake mix and milk to the whipped filling mix. Use the foil cups to make mini Victoria Sponge-style cakes layered with strawberry jam and whipped cream.
“Well, it looks like I’m about to be baking and watching Bridgerton,” one fan commented when the news was shared on social media last year. Others have shared how adorable the kits are—”The little strawberry scone has my heart,” and “I’m buying all of it.”
On the Strawberry Scone Kit product page, a reviewer even begged for it to be available year-round: “Best Betty Crocker mix of all time! Need it to be a forever product! I have been buying these in bulk and need it to be a continuous product! It’s so good and absolutely amazing with tea! Please keep the product out and don’t discontinue it!”
The mixes have been spotted at Walmart and retail for around $7. I’ll definitely be taking a cue from the fan above and buying these in bulk to bake while I rewatch old seasons and get ready for the fourth season of “Bridgerton,” which will be released in two parts: Part 1 on Jan. 29 and Part 2 on Feb. 26. Who’s with me?
