Coca-Cola is an iconic brand with equally iconic flavors. Nearly 140 years in the business means many innovations have come and gone—some more successful than others (Sorry, but what even was “Drops of Joy?”).
Arguably, the best complement to Coke’s rich caramel backbone, however, is the addition of vanilla. It’s no wonder it’s a combo the beverage giant keeps coming back to because whether it’s Vanilla Coke from the early aughts, the recent Orange Cream, or even a classic Coke float, fans—like myself—can’t get enough.
Now, hot on the heels of its Orange Cream cola being named a CSP Best New Product for 2025, Coke is riding the vanilla wave by introducing a new creamy spin. And I got an early taste.
Coca-Cola Introduces New Cherry Float Flavor
If I have to choose a cola flavor aside from the OG, most of the time I’m grabbing cherry. Where vanilla lends a rich, softening balance, cherry offers a brightening, almost tart upgrade. So when I saw the new Cherry Float flavor, I knew it had the potential to become my new favorite. I’m happy to report it didn’t disappoint.

I Tried Coke’s Cherry Float Flavor First
I got an early preview of the flavor from the Coca-Cola team at this year’s NACS trade show. My first sip brought me right back to sipping a fountain soda at the movie theater in high school. The deep caramel notes blend perfectly at the front with the creamy vanilla, and are carried through with the tart-yet-sweet cherry finish. It was bubbly, cold, and refreshing, yet so cozy and satisfying. Just as a frosty soda should be, it’s nostalgic in all the best ways.
Fans who lamented the discontinuation of Cherry Vanilla last year are especially excited about the news. On a Reddit post where the release was teased, fans were quick to react: “I won’t be able to buy this fast enough.” Another added, “Oh, boy. I do love me a scoop of real vanilla bean ice cream and a screaming cold cherry Coke poured slowly over it.”
Others are questioning if this is just a rebrand of the aforementioned Cherry Vanilla, but either way, the buzz has started in earnest.
Cherry Float and Cherry Float Zero Sugar will hit stores in February 2026 in various sizes. The brand’s new mini cans will show up in convenience stores starting in April. So, when you’re looking for a mid-winter pick-me-up, this is the perfect choice—the “cream” of the crop. I know I’ll be stocking up when Cherry Float hits shelves for its special one-year, limited-time run. Fingers crossed it’s a big enough hit to grab a permanent spot on Coke’s roster.
