I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m a sucker for a good frozen appetizer. I keep plenty of options in my freezer even when I’m not planning on entertaining. Why? Because they make for the ideal midafternoon snack, especially when I want something filling and indulgent.
It goes without saying that I’m not alone in my affinity for quick and easy bites. After all, a simple jaunt down any grocery store freezer aisle will show you an enviable selection of appetizers and snacks galore, from frozen mozzarella sticks to Brazilian cheese bread and toasted ravioli (yum!). Looking to expand your appetizer horizons? Word on the street is that Costco might be carrying the crème de la crème of the frozen app world. If you’re a fan of fried and spicy foods, this is one you shouldn’t pass up.
Feel Good Foods Crispy Jalapeño Bites at Costco
If you haven’t strolled through Costco’s freezer section recently, it’s time to whip out your wallet and get ready to brave the warehouse crowds. Feel Good Foods is rolling out to more Costco locations, and I’d argue its Crispy Jalapeño Bites are worth a trip to the store even if there’s nothing else on your shopping list.
The crispy-coated snacks are stuffed with diced jalapeños, cream cheese, and white Cheddar, and they cook to crunchy, gooey perfection in just seven to eight minutes in the air fryer. Best of all? They’re also gluten-free.
In classic Costco fashion, the Crispy Jalapeño Bites come in a whopping two-pound box for around $14.11, depending on where you live.
As far as whether they’re as good as the restaurant deal, the verdict is a resounding “big thumbs up,” according to one Redditor, who took to the platform solely to praise this frozen snack. “Back in our grad school days, there used to be a bar in Chicago’s Little Italy that had the best jalapeño poppers we have had in the past two decades,” they shared. “These reminded us of those.” Pretty high praise, straight from a popper aficionado.
That Redditor isn’t the only one who holds this opinion, though. Soon enough, comments came pouring in, giving the spicy bites similar acclaim. Customers are particularly happy that the bites contain diced jalapeño pieces rather than whole jalapeños, saying that makes the poppers much easier to eat.
And fair warning to the spice-averse: Many commenters mentioned these have quite the spicy kick. But if you’ve always thought your jalapeño poppers needed some more, well, “pop,” you’re likely to find that here.
Feel Good Foods began rolling out to Costco stores in 2024, but only in the Bay Area. Since then, it has expanded into Costco locations in the Southeast, the West, Southern California, and Alaska. It’s unclear, however, when, if at all, they’ll roll out to locations in the Midwest or Southwest. Luckily, you should still be able to find the brand’s standard-size boxes of jalapeño poppers at stores like Whole Foods, Target, and Walmart.
But if you’re living somewhere with it in stock at Costco, I’d plan on popping by the warehouse retailer stat.
