As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more aware of my feet. In high school, I scoffed at my mom when she recommended I bring a change of shoes to prom or discouraged me from buying the 5-inch heels I undoubtedly had my eye on. The pain didn’t register then like it does now that I’m almost 30 years old. To add insult to injury, my ankles are somehow weaker than they used to be, and I swear my skin is more likely to blister. Yes, it’s a privilege to age, but it certainly has its drawbacks.
- Hoka’s Mach 6 sneaker is nearly $30 off in nine colors for a limited time.
- The 6 is Hoka’s “lightest, most responsive Mach to date,” according to the brand.
- Hundreds of shoppers swear by its “supportive and pillowy” design.
For all of these reasons and more, I pay an inordinate amount of attention to my sneakers, amassing quite the collection over the past few years. I wear Brooks Adrenalines on long runs, Asics Gel Kayano 31s when walking my dog and my silver Bared Amakihi leather sneakers when dressing up jeans. The one brand missing from my collection? Hoka. It’s a glaring omission that I hope to rectify now that the popular Mach 6 sneaker is on sale in nine bright, bold and beautiful colors.

What makes this shoe so compelling to the hundreds of Hoka shoppers who swear by it is its “lightweight” design. While it still incorporates Hoka’s signature cushioning into its sole for a bouncy stride, this sneaker is the brand’s “lightest, most responsive Mach to date.” But thanks to an internal gusset and a snug upper, shoppers haven’t noticed a decrease in stability. In fact, one reviewer called them “supportive and pillowy” to help their runner’s knee, adding that they’re also “responsive and easy to push off on” when they want to go faster. While they haven’t tested their pair yet on a distance longer than 10 kilometers, they added that they’re great for “everyday running and races.”
A second Hoka Mach 6 fan wrote that the sneaker is “perfect for long days on my feet or casual strolls.” What’s more, they called them “super cute and incredibly comfy,” writing that they would “definitely recommend them to anyone looking for style and comfort.”
Since I’m in the market for both, I’m seriously considering adding this running shoe to my collection—and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Score it now before it sells out.
