    Growing up, my family always had three types of products in our fridge’s butter compartment: a box of butter for baking, a box of Oleo (or margarine) for baking my grandma’s vintage recipes, and a tub of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter for everything else.

    In grocery stores today, you’ll find plenty of spreads with creative names that convey they’re not actually butter, but I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter was the first to do it. The spread was created in 1981, and has always been loved ever since for its rich flavor and creamy texture that can be used in place of traditional butter—without trans fats or cholesterol.

    Now, for the first time in its 45-year-long history, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter is getting a recipe upgrade. 

    I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Launches New Recipe Formulation

    I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter has unveiled a new NutriRich formula that delivers the same creamy, spreadable consistency with a new blend of vitamins and the fatty acid Omega-3 ALA.

    A single serving of the new NutriRich Original I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter now has 20 percent of your daily recommended value of Vitamins A, D, E, and B12 and at least 20 percent of your daily recommended value of Omega-3 ALA. And a serving of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Light has the same 20 percent of your daily vitamins, plus 10 percent of your daily recommended amount of Omega-3 ALA. Plus, the new I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter formula still contains 70 percent less saturated fat than traditional butter.

    In addition to the added nutrients, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter is committed to providing “chef-level performance,” ensuring its spread melts consistently, delivers clean flavor, and browns reliably. The brand teamed up with none other than Chef Gordon Ramsay himself to put the new formula to the test—I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’s first celebrity partnership since Fabio in the ’90s—and it has Ramsay’s official stamp of approval. 

    “I don’t put my name on anything unless I’ve used it myself and know it can perform in a real kitchen,” Ramsay said in a press release. “[I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter] delivered consistently in flavor and texture. Perfect for home cooks who want great taste.”

    The new I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter NutriRich formulation is rolling out across its Original, Light, and Extra Creamy products at retailers nationwide for you to give it a try. It might have the same clever name, but this is not your mother’s I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.
