There’s an active recall on ice cream bars sold nationwide, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to undeclared allergens in the product.
The product being recalled is Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars sold at grocery stores nationwide, including Kroger. The affected ice cream has a batch code of “25-210” printed on the top of the 3-ounce boxes.
Check your freezer, and if you have this recalled dessert on hand, dispose of it or return to your place of purchase for a refund. While no illnesses have been reported in connection to this recall, the recalled batch of ice cream may have been cross-contaminated with wheat and soy, which are common allergens undeclared on the packaging.
Those with a wheat or soy allergy may experience a reaction as severe as anaphylaxis when consuming this ice cream. If you are showing signs of a serious allergic reaction, including hives, difficulty breathing or speaking, dizziness, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea, call 911 immediately.
