I haven’t always been a fan of spicy food with noticeable heat. But as I got older and started exploring new flavor profiles, I realized that I actually prefer a little kick in my dishes. Whether it’s a mild tikka masala paired with rice and vegetables, sriracha-marinated chicken on the grill, or buffalo sauce poured over cauliflower, I crave spicy meals with plenty of flavor.
In 2025, it seemed like everyone was on the same page as me. Brands were embracing new releases that were “swicy” versions of fans’ favorite snacks. Huer and Frank’s RedHot released new spicy gummy bears, and Skittles came out with new Gummies Fuego candy. And this year, Taco Bell brought back its Volcano Quesarito with an even bolder and hotter sauce.
Now, McCormick has released a new hot sauce flavor that we’re racing to try. And it just so happens to be McCormick’s 2025 Flavor of the Year.
McCormick Just Released New Aji Amarillo Hot Sauce
Allrecipes / McCormick
McCormick has just unveiled a new product that adds rich South American flavor to your kitchen. The Aji Amarillo Hot Sauce has moderate heat from Peruvian yellow chile peppers and a sweet pineapple flavor that will enhance your homemade dishes.
Aji Amarillo means “yellow chile pepper” in English, and it’s deeply embedded in the sauce’s flavor profile. While the pepper starts off yellow, as it matures, it turns a bright orange and releases flavors of passion fruit, mango, and a moderate heat.
The sweet, fruity flavor of the host sauce comes from distilled vinegar, lime juice, pineapple juice, and Aji Amarillo Pepper puree. Together, it creates a hot sauce that would taste delicious over your slow-cooker chicken tacos, seafood bake, or even pizza that needs a little extra heat.
And the many ways you can use this fiery hot sauce don’t end there. Any marinades, salsas, or condiments like mayonnaise or ketchup would taste incredible with a drop or two of Aji Amarillo Hot Sauce.
The new, spicy condiment is now available on McCormick’s website in a 10-ounce bottle for $15.99. I’ll be purchasing the hot sauce and adding it to the rice bowl I make every week. And since the Super Bowl is just around the corner, be sure to get yours so you can smother your chicken wings in the sauce or add a few drops to your baked mac and cheese for a spicy kick to enjoy while cheering on your favorite team.
