Michael Schwartz, founder of Texas-based Michael’s Health, launched a new national initiative to support independent health food stores.
Called the “Naturopathic Wellness Center” National Advertising Campaign, this project is designed to celebrate and support independent retailers who keep the spirit of national wellness alive, according to the company. About 100 stores have already joined.
“I’ve had a wonderful career thanks to the independent stores that believed in me. Last month I realized—it’s time to give back in a way that truly helps them grow,” Schwartz said.
The campaign is personally funded by Michael’s Health and will run nationwide starting in January 2026. It will bring consumers who are looking for holistic wellness solutions directly to their local independent health food store.
Each participating store will be featured in a national advertising and online promotion including a store locator on the website. Visitors can sign up for a free nutritional evaluation and connect with a Certified Naturopathic Wellness Consultant at their nearest participating store, the company said.
“This campaign isn’t just about selling products,” Schwartz said. “It’s about restoring the visibility, respect, and vitality of the independent stores that built this industry. It’s my way of saying thank you—and giving back to the people who made it all possible.”
