Sweet tea is the quintessential southern beverage. And while many southerners have strong opinions about the best homemade version, few would turn down a gallon of Milo’s Original Famous Sweet Tea.
It’s no-frills, yet there’s something about this signature brew that continues to win fans nearly 80 years later. (It’s got to be that real cane sugar.) For many folks, a jug of Milo’s is the anchor of the beverage table at family reunions, holiday gatherings, birthday parties, and more. Milo’s tea has become such a thing that it’s now its own company, separate from the Birmingham-based fast food chain.
And these days, you’ll see that red logo all over the grocery store beverage aisle, from teas with various sugar options to lemonades and an Arnold Palmer mix that always hits the spot when it’s “porch weather.”
But now, Milo’s is really flexing its beverage portfolio with three new drinks heading to grocery stores, including a limited-edition flavored sweet tea that could outshine the original.
Milo’s New Blackberry Sweet Tea Headed To Grocery Stores
Milo’s Tea Company
If you love Milo’s pre-made lemon-flavored tea, get ready for an all-new fruity fusion: Blackberry Sweet Tea. It’s Milo’s first-ever, limited-time-only tea—and as someone who loves (and misses) the seasonal blackberry tea at Cracker Barrel, this couldn’t come at a better time.
Like the rest of Milo’s lineup, beverages are made with “real ingredients and no preservatives or artificial colors.” And that’s not all. Milo’s has two more drinks heading to grocery stores. Following last year’s launch of flavored lemonades, Milo’s is adding Zero Sugar Lemonade to its lineup.
But wait! There’s more! Milo’s is breaking into a new beverage category this year with Fruit Punch. The all-new offering is described as a “better-for-you take on a classic family favorite.” Fruit Punch will be cherry-forward, which is perfect for springtime get-togethers, or showers where you need a classic sherbet punch.
All three new beverages are packaged in the traditional gallon jug (with those signature matching caps that coordinate with the label!) and Fruit Punch and Zero Sugar Lemonade will also be available in a half-gallon size. Zero Sugar Lemonade will also be offered in a 20-ounce grab-and-go format. The suggested pricing is $4.29 for gallons, $3.19 for half gallons, and $1.75 for 20-ounce bottles, though prices may vary by region and retailer.
All three flavors will be available at Walmart stores in the U.S. as well as other grocery retailers starting in early February. So, keep an eye out for these brand-new drinks—especially the Blackberry Sweet Tea, as it won’t be around forever. According to Milo’s, the tea will only be available through May. So, I’m already scheming ways to turn a back stock of this tea into ice pops so I can enjoy the limited-time flavor all summer long.
