    • ReBoost Nasal Spray is recalled nationwide due to yeast, mold and microbial contamination.
    • The bacteria can cause severe infections, posing risk to immunocompromised people.
    • Stop using this spray and request a refund; no illnesses have been reported so far.

There’s an active recall on one brand of nasal spray sold across the U.S., according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to a microbial contamination, and the presence of yeast and/or mold was found in the product.

The spray affected is 20-milliliter bottles of ReBoost Nasal Spray sold at retail locations and online nationwide. The packaging contains a NDC number “62795-4005-9,” UPC “787647 10186 3,” lot code “224268” and an expiration date of December 2027.

If you have this nasal spray on hand, return to your place of purchase or contact the company, MediNatura New Mexico, Inc., to request a refund. You can do this by emailing recall@medinatura.com or calling 800-621-7644 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.

This recall was announced after tests found that the nasal spray contained yeast/mold and a microbial contamination of the species Achromobacter. High levels of this bacteria can result in “life-threatening infections” that are especially dangerous for immunocompromised individuals. While there are no illnesses or infections reported in connection to this recall, contact a healthcare provider with any questions or concerns.

This nasal spray recall follows another separate Walgreens nasal spray recall, which resulted in over 40,000 bottles being affected by a different microbial contamination. Check your medicine cabinet immediately to see if you have either of these nasal sprays on hand.

For questions regarding your nasal spray, contact the FDA at 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332).
