    • Member’s Mark Super Greens sold at Sam’s Club are being recalled nationwide.
    • The greens powder is connected to a Salmonella outbreak with 11 illnesses, including 3 hospitalizations.
    • Consumers should discard or return product and contact a doctor if experiencing symptoms.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just announced a recall on greens powder sold at Sam’s Club stores nationwide. This is due to its connection in an active Salmonella outbreak.

The Member’s Mark Super Greens dietary supplement powder affected includes organic moringa leaf powder that has been found to be the source of the contamination. All Member’s Mark Super Greens are being recalled regardless of lot code and best-by date, so check your product immediately and dispose or return the recalled powder.

There have been 11 illnesses, including three hospitalizations connected to the consumption of moringa leaf powder. Six of the individuals affected stated that they consumed Member’s Mark Super Greens. While the product was distributed nationwide, illnesses have directly impacted the following states: Florida, Kansas, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.

Salmonella infection (salmonellosis) can cause symptoms like diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache, nausea, vomiting and loss of appetite. These symptoms usually last up to seven days and can start from six hours to six days after infection. Consult a healthcare provider if you are showing signs of foodborne illness after taking greens powder.

For questions about this recall, contact the FDA at 1-888-INFO-FDA (1-888-463-6332).
