The Taco Bell menu is so consistently stacked with delicious items, that it’s almost hard to imagine fans being devastated about one food disappearing. Surely, with other cult-classics—and almost weekly new menu items to try—customers can find something else to satisfy their Tex-Mex hankering. And yet, the second the new Steak & Poblano Rolled Quesadilla disappears from menus, I will be hosting a funeral in its honor.
Taco Bell has discontinued many items over the years. However, unlike some chains that take decades to bring favorites back, The Bell is pretty in tune with what its customers are craving. The chain’s Decades menu has been a hit two years in a row, so, it’s clear fans are hoping to see their discontinued favorites revived.
Now, by some holiday miracle, Taco Bell is bringing back one of its most requested discontinued menu items of all time: the Quesarito.
Taco Bell Brings Back Quesarito
Taco Bell
Taco Bell’s Quesarito was introduced in the 2010s and became a fast favorite for its unique, ultra-cheesy shell. Because, for the uninitiated, the Quesarito is a burrito wrapped up inside a quesadilla.
The iconic menu item features seasoned rice, beef, chipotle sauce, and sour cream inside a burrito-wrapped grilled quesadilla shell that’s made with both nacho cheese sauce and melted cheeses. Taco Bell removed the Quesarito from its menu boards in 2020, but you could still order the cheesy burrito via the app. Then, in 2023, the beloved menu item was discontinued altogether.
“Words cannot describe my disappointment,” one fan wrote on Reddit after learning that the Quesarito was pulled from menus.
“The worst decision on earth tbh I was so mad and upset,” wrote another.
After years of begging, Taco Bell’s Quesarito is rejoining the menu on Dec. 18—the same day that the Cheesy Dipping Burritos and Steak Garlic Nacho Fries return.
Not to knock the wind out of your Quesarito-filled sails, but, Taco Bell isn’t bringing back the cheesy, saucy burrito for good. The fan-favorite menu item will only be available for a limited time.
But, some good news in the bad: the first 30,000 Taco Bell Rewards Members can get a $1 Quesarito via the Taco Bell app during the 2 p.m. PST Tuesday Drop on Dec. 23. Otherwise, the Quesarito will cost you $4.99 during its menu stint.
I know what I’m bringing to all my holiday parties this weekend: a big takeout bag of Quesaritos for everyone! Just call me Taco Bell Santa!
