Fall is nearly here, which means you’ve likely reached the point in the year where you have to start rationing the Girl Scout cookies in your freezer. Hopefully, you thought ahead and ordered an extra two to three boxes of your favorites, such as Samoas and Thin Mints, to keep you satisfied. But, if not, you only have a few more months before you’ll start seeing those bright-eyed Girl Scouts selling their delicious cookie creations outside every grocery store, mall, and event for weeks on end.
We already knew that the Girl Scout cookie lineup was changing this year, as the organization announced its plans to discontinue both the Toast-Yay and S’mores cookies after the 2025 season. However, the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) have now announced that the cookies were not discontinued in vain—but to make room for an all-new cookie joining the 2026 lineup.
The Girl Scouts are debuting an all-new Exploremores cookie for the 2026 season.
Girl Scouts Announce New Exploremores Cookie
One of the GSUSA’s key values is “Find Adventure,” and what better way to do that than to explore? So, the new Exploremores cookies honor the Girl Scouts’ sense of adventure—as well as grow their entrepreneurial skills.

The new cookie flavor is inspired by Rocky Road ice cream, which is a longtime fan-favorite ice cream flavor made with marshmallows and nuts in chocolate ice cream. So, just like the ice cream, the new Exploremores will feature chocolate, marshmallow, and almond-flavored crème in between two chocolate cookies.
The Exploremores are joining the Girl Scouts lineup of existing flavors, including the Adventurefuls, gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip, Caramel deLites/Samoas, Peanut Butter Sandwich/Do-si-dos, Lemonades, Lemon-Ups, Peanut Butter Patties/Tagalongs, Thin Mints, Toffee-tastic, and Trefoils, for the 2026 season.
The new Exploremores will be available for purchase both in person at local booths (and through your neighborhood Girl Scouts) and online, a system that the Girl Scouts adopted with the launch of the Raspberry Rally in 2023.
The national Girl Scout cookie season begins in January and runs through April, but your local timing may vary. You can go to the Girl Scouts’ website to determine when Exploremores and the rest of your Girl Scout cookie favorites will be available in 2026.
I tried the new Exploremores early, and here is my honest review.
My Honest Review of the Girl Scouts’ Exploremores Cookies
I like Rocky Road ice cream for its decadent chocolate flavors and tasty mix-ins. However, it’s a little tricky to get marshmallow flavors to shine through without using actual marshmallows.
So, in the Exploremores, the marshmallow flavor is pretty overpowered by the chocolate and almond in the crème. I almost wish the crème itself were only marshmallow and almond-flavored, rather than adding chocolate, since the cookies are also chocolate-flavored.
Other than that, the almond nuttiness shines through well, and the chocolate certainly does the trick. I did feel that the cookies were a little too soft and almost stale-tasting. I like a cookie with a bite—which is why I usually opt for a crispy Thin Mint (especially from the freezer) or crunchy Samoa.
While I don’t think the new Exploremores will dethrone my favorite Girl Scout cookies this season, I do believe chocolate fans will enjoy these indulgent cookies.
