The Jonas Brothers Eat This 3-Ingredient Snack Every Day

The Jonas Brothers have been in fans’ lives for 20 years, which they are currently celebrating on their “Greetings From Your Hometown” tour across the U.S. While many things have changed over those years—Kevin is debuting his first-ever single, Joe is the lead singer in the band DNCE, Nick is stepping into more acting, and all three brothers have daughters of their own—just as many have not.

Fans still belt out “Lovebug” and “Year 3000” at the concerts, the crowd goes as wild for Big Rob’s verse in “Burnin’ Up” as any other song in the set, and the Jonas Brothers share the same humor and brotherly banter as they did in their Disney Channel days. Their personalities aren’t the only thing that’s stayed the same over the past 20 years, apparently, their appetites have, too.

The Jonas Brothers’ Favorite 3-Ingredient Snack

Kevin, Joe, and Nick have had one snack on their backstage rider since the very beginning of the band: Ants on a Log.

Every night of a tour, the Jonas Brothers say their dressing rooms are always stocked with Ants on a Log, which is a piece of celery topped with peanut butter (or, as they sometimes make it now, almond butter) and raisins.

“We have this backstage, so I think it’s nostalgic for us,” Joe said in an episode of Mythical Kitchen’s “Last Meals.”

Nick explained that the “A Very Jonas Christmas Movie” stars have been eating Ants on a Log for close to 20 years, partly because of his Type 1 Diabetes, which can cause his blood sugar to dip while on stage.

“It’s a little bit of protein, it’s the healthier of snack options that you can find, and it also makes us feel like we’re back in touch with our childhood,” Nick said.

The Jo Bros’ love for Ants on a Log is long documented, with Nick posting a video during the brothers’ 2021 “Remember This” tour saying that they “eat like four-year-olds” backstage as he shows the nostalgic snack. And, recently, Nick, Joe, and Kevin visited the Allrecipes office to build their ideal snacking box—and, you guessed it, Ants on a Log made the cut. As for the rest of the box? It might just be the most unhinged snackle box we’ve ever seen.

To go with the celery, almond butter, and raisin snack, the Jonas Brothers chose Hostess Chocolate Frosted Donettes, Gushers, Hershey’s Kisses, Baby Bottle Pops, gummy worms, Circus Peanuts, Vienna sausage, and Campbell’s SpaghettiOs. Yeah, we didn’t see those foods coming, either.

Maybe the Ants on a Log isn’t the most questionable snack choice in that box, but they’re only human, after all. With 20 years of love behind it, it’s clear that Ants on a Log really is the Jonas Brothers, “one, the sun, the light of day” when it comes to snacks.
