Fall has officially hit the aisles of Trader Joe’s. The neighborhood grocer is fully stocked with our favorite seasonal finds, including Pumpkin Kringles, Pumpkin Sugar Cookie Dough, and Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cakes.
But if you’re not a fan of pumpkin, or if you’re simply holding off until the leaves actually start to change, now is the perfect time to enjoy an overlooked fall flavor: apple.
Last month, shoppers were treated to the return of TJ’s Apple Cider Doughnuts. Now, the store is launching another new, exciting apple product, and fans are already dreaming up delicious ways to use it.
Trader Joe’s Releases New Apple Pie Spread
Trader Joe’s now has Apple Pie Spread. The 10-ounce jar is priced at just under $4 and features a vintage-inspired label with a pie illustration that screams cozy. The spread is made with classic apple pie ingredients, including chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and butter. According to the product page, it was inspired by TJ’s Cinnamon Bun Spread, which graces shelves during the winter months.
Fans on Reddit didn’t hold back with sharing tasty ideas for ways to use it. “I like to put it inside croissant dough or puff pastry, add cinnamon, and bake it. Easy apple turnovers,” said one Redditor.
“Just picked some up!” added another. “The manager checked me out [and] said she had some at their product tasting and that it’s amazing, especially on vanilla ice cream.”
One fan jumped in to share a breakfast idea. “Was just planning on meal prepping apple pie overnight oats!” they said. “[I] was going to make stewed apples to layer in the oats, maybe I’ll mix them with this, too.”
The genius ideas just kept coming. Redditors suggested that it would be good in thumbprint cookies, apple bars, and on top of cinnamon rolls. One person offered up a simple and very relatable idea. “Tempted to eat it straight out of the jar…but yeah, bagel or English muffin sounds more appropriate,” they wrote.
Trader Joe’s Apple Pie Spread is only available for a limited time, so be sure to stock up on this flavorful find before it’s gone. Because as one fan on Instagram wrote, “I need 5 jars of this.”
